It all starts with sun. Sun heats our atmosphere and outer layer of earth crust. The amount of energy gained by earth from sun in one year is 50 times bigger than humankind consume in total in one year. That means that sun is huge and inexhaustible source of energy.
During sunny days you can feel the energy on your own skin. In reality, there is a lot of thermal energy in the air even in the coldest days or in the night. That makes heat pump profitable even in the northern countries like Sweden or Norway where thousands of heat pumps have been installed so far.
Why do people hesitate?
Heat pumps appear mysterious for many people. The concept of transfer of heat from cold outer atmosphere into house is not easy to understand.
How does it work?
Heat pump needs source of heat (outdoor air), two heat exchangers ( one absorbs the heat and the second one emits the heat) and small amount of electricity for keeping the system going.
In general, heat pump extracts the energy from outer atmosphere.
In the case of Daikin Althermy, the air is source of energy. The pump extracts the energy of particular temperature, which is then passed to transfer medium. The transfer medium is in the case of Daikin Altherma water streaming in your low temperature radiators, floor heating systems or in the fan- coil units. The energy between air and medium is transferred by operational fluid.
Compressor- the heart of heat pump
When operational fluid goes through vaporizer, it is changed into gas. This is the moment, when compressor starts to compress the gas and thus energy. The compressed energy has higher temperature. There is a condenser in the house, which make the gas condensate and ease the energy, which heats your house.
